Awesomium rendering broken since MacOSX Sierra 10.12

Since upgrading to MacOSX Sierra our rendering in awesomium has broken when using 1.6.6. Can anyone confirm experiencing the same on their application? Can anyone confirm or deny that this bug also affects awesomium 1.7.x?

The only error message which is output is the following:

[warn] kq_init: detected broken kqueue; not using.: Undefined error: 0

This has popped up in other applications since MacOSX Sierra, the error seems to stem from libevent in the chromium project.

On reference is here: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-core/issues/2869

I'm encountering the same bug in 1.7.5 - apparently it's trivial to fix it by linking the library with a fixed version of Libevent, and it would be great if an updated version of Awesomium could be released or, at the very least, the source code handed to someone who's interested in maintaining the project/the community so that we could fix it ourselves.
